The Women’s World Car of the Year (WWCOTY) is pleased to announce that Fariha Aftab, from Pakistan, has joined its international jury. WWCOTY is the only car award in the world composed exclusively of women motoring journalists, and with Aftab’s appointment, now features 75 judges from 52 countries.
Fariha Aftab is a significant motoring freelance journalist in Pakistan. Her tremendous depth and breadth of writing experience with Automotive brands, an innovative lens of what the mobility future looks like, and a compelling experience with a vehicle manufacturing company to deliver technical insights and viable solutions have earned her a high reputation in Pakistan, where her articles and opinion are frequently sought after.
She started her career at a Chinese automotive company FAW as a Project Engineer, where her talent was extremely appreciated. However, she decided to become freelance to keep in touch with journalists and influencers from all over the world while sitting on her laptop. “It is an opportunity that a regular 9 to 5 job wouldn’t have provided me.”, she confesses. Moreover, being a car enthusiast brings so much motivation to add value to everyday readers’ life by crafting engaging articles.
Her love for automobiles started much earlier. Since her childhood, she was attracted to cars even though she never thought of becoming an automotive writer. “I think it is my destiny”, she says. “Joining as a freelance automotive writer has now provided me a window to showcase my passion for the latest car technology, innovations, and trends.”
