The members of the WWCOTY jury will initially select winners by category. The cars that achieve the highest score in each section will go through to the next phase, leading to the final unveiling of the WWCOTY World’s Best Car 2024. The winners in each category will be announced on January 29. The supreme winner will be revealed on March 8 coinciding with International Women’s Day.
The aim of this unique award is to recognize the best cars of the year and to give a voice to women in the automotive world. The voting criteria is based on the same principles that guide any driver when buying a vehicle. It is not “the woman’s car” because such a concept does not exist, but a car for everyone. Aspects such as safety, quality, price, design, ease of driving and environmental footprint, among others, are factors that the jurors take into account when voting.
This year’s WWCOTY Awards take place in a world marked by war and high inflation rates. In this context, winning one of the WWCOTY awards is a vitally important recognition for the car brands.
The Women’s World Car of the Year, as the only jury comprised entirely of female motoring experts, reaches a diverse audience of over 500 million people, highlighting its significant influence on global consumers.
Women’s World Car of the Year is the only car awards group in the world comprised exclusively of women motoring journalists. It was created by New Zealand motoring journalist, Sandy Myhre, in 2009. She is currently Honorary President while Marta García performs as Executive President.
However, beyond choosing the best cars of the year, our goal is also to give visibility to women in the automotive world, to contribute to making women’s voices heard on all continents because mobility for a woman means access to many personal and professional possibilities.
