The Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year (WWCOTY) is pleased to announce that Spanish journalist Arancha Pato, founder of Motorlife Comunicación, has joined the international jury. The WWCOTY is the only automotive award in the world made up exclusively of female motoring journalists. With the appointment of Arancha Pato, the WWCOTY now has 80 jurors from 56 countries.
Founded in 2009, Motorlife Comunicación is one of Spain’s leading motoring publishers. Among its range of products is motorlife.es, an interactive magazine available on different distribution channels and digital press platforms in Spain. It also publishes auto10.com, which specialises in tests, news, current affairs and in answering questions and advising readers on car buying.
Arancha Pato’s professional relationship with the automotive world began in 1987, when she started working for Coche Actual. In 2003 she was appointed director of Autopista magazine, the leading magazine in the sector at the time, and shortly afterwards she became editorial director of the motoring section of Motorpress-Ibérica.
Pato has always tried to bring the motoring world closer to women. The series of articles on female drivers and the launch of the first magazine Coche Mujer earned her the Graciliano Hernández Prize, awarded by the RACE (Royal Automobile Club of Spain).
‘I am very excited to be part of WWCOTY because I think it is necessary to bring the automotive world closer to women and to show how beautiful and exciting it is. At the same time, it is also a way of giving visibility to so many women drivers who work in this sector’, says Arancha Pato.
Arancha Pato joins at a crucial time of the year, just as the juries begin to consider potential product nominees for the WWCOTY Awards. ‘I am sure the addition of Arancha to WWCOTY will contribute to further strengthening the role of our organisation in Southern Europe. Arancha is a great professional with a lot to contribute’ says Marta García, President of WWCOTY.
